Cheshire Woodcraft LLC of Cheshire, Connecticut have been in business since 1971. in 2021, we merged with Maker Carpentry also of Cheshire. Together, the leaders of both businesses are building on the companies history and work values. Paul Smedberg, Owner, has been providing his cabinetry and remodeling skills to the Cheshire area for the past 25+ years. He has been designing, hand crafting, and manufacturing all types of cabinets, kitchens, baths, entertainment centers, and millwork, etc. Paul has designed cabinet layouts for restaurants, commercial buildings and residences. He is active in the Cheshire Fire Department and his local church. He is a hands on individual and teaches others how to handcraft pieces of wood into unique designs and cabinet pieces. He is always available to help someone learn and understand the cabinet trade.
John Wolfe, Master Craftsman in Cabinet Making, is the wood shop foreman with over 30 years at Cheshire Woodcraft. He graduated from Kaynor-Technical School where he specialized in wood shop. After graduating, he worked in a cabinet shop for several years where he gained the knowledge needed to become a Master Craftsman. He then opened his own business and ran it for six years designing custom and unique kitchens and bathrooms. John has a talent that is rare today in cabinet making. He has patience and creativity and is able to repair, mend, or fix any finish, scratch or problem involving wood that the customer has. John also has extensive experience in remodeling and has done many jobs in the Cheshire Community.
